Template not updating dreamweaver

The Update Template Files dialog goes examines the associated pages, but does not update them. An editable region should hold your site's content or stuff that is different from page to page (like title, description, keyword tags).I'm WAY behind schedule on this site and this is killing me. A menu system should NOT be inside of an editable region for this reason.Okay, I guess I'm confused because you said that this is what DW expects to see: Root Site 1 Templates Site 2 Templates Which is what we have, but also within the root is an as well as some other pages that belong to the root...along with a Templates folder in the root. Otherwise, the tree looks like this: Root Site 1 Templates Site 2 Templates Site 3 Templates and that will generate the errors. My initial example has Site 1 and Site 2 standing at an equal directory level but there are no site definitions above them. That's why I was asking if I needed to just map Site1 as a separate site and make the changes, and then upload those changes to the root.

Apparently she was just opening the pages in DW and editing them.

I am making changes to an editable region (in this case a menu).

You test this by creating a brand new page and then applying the template..will see your changes show up on that new page but any future changes to the menu in the will not update the new page either. Change the file so your menu is no longer inside of an editable region. Originally I was building this site with PHP includes to simplify my life when it came to updating things like that menu.

All other sites would just be like you said..their own folder... If "root" has a site definition of its own, then yes..will have issues because the other site definitions are nested within root and the caches will be in conflict.

DW should be outputting all sorts of warnings every time you switch into a nested site, though.
