Centos dynamic dns not updating Philiphines random cam chat

Changing the computer's (Windows 7) IP address to a static IP will cause the DNS (Windows Server 2008 R2) to update.

But changing the IP back to dynamic will not cause the DNS to update.

I responded with "Linux clients can dynamically register in DNS". Since they are securely communicating to Active Directory, SSSD expects to be performing an update to a DNS zone that is configure for Secure only updates.

The very KEY item to focus on is the data that is being registered in DNS. In this example, the value 'usmdua8006' is NOT a fully qualified name.

// options ; logging ; zone "." IN ; zone "globomantics.local." IN ; include "/etc/named.rfc1912.zones"; include "/etc/key";$ORIGIN globomantics.local. root ( 20140902;serial 21600 ;refesh after 6 hours 3600 ;retry after 1 hour 604800 ;expire after 1 week 86400 ) ;minimum ttl of 1 day IN NS server1.globomantics.local.

: P I'm Having some difficulty running DDNS updates using latest version on bind/DHCP available in Cent OS 7. // // See /usr/share/doc/bind*/sample/ for example named configuration files.

So it looks like it will add new records but not update existing ones.

I started wondering if this had something to do with installing the Pertino client on my DCs last Friday but am not sure.

I found that my DNS servers had scavenging set for 3 days and my dhcp scope was set to 1 day leases.

I changed the scavenging and then made sure that I selected to scavenge for stale resource records.
